Just like various editions of Dungeons and Dragons , MTG really wanted to depict the fantasies of both an intelligent, scheming dragon that's closer to power level to a god
The Theros gods are always creatures on the stack, regardless of your devotion, so Negate wont work there
First of all, you can play an additional Land on each of your turns, but you do have to sacrifice a Land each turn unless you sacrifice Gitrog itself, but, you do get to draw a card whenever a Land enters the graveyard from anywhere
Theres a lot of glue here in the colorless cards, and more, if you consider some of the prototype or unearth cards that you are okay playing without their color like Scrapwork Mutt without unearth, is still a perfectly fine creature
Mithril Coat Taking Darksteel Plate, giving it flash, and letting it attach itself to a legendary creature when it enters the battlefield makes Mithril Coat an incredibly potent card for any deck where your commander is a creature that ends up dying a lot
The moment we depicted shows Firion fully geared up and ready for the end game
